Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif says women should not silently face atrocities and must speak up about issues like martial rape and other crimes committed against them. The actress says sometimes even educated women succumb to the pressure of societal norms and remain silent on issues which should be raised.
“I know of educated women, who remain silent in the face of violence, because they are afraid to confront societal norms and have fingers pointed in their direction. Specially when the majority of our society fails to recognise martial rape as a crime,” Katrina said.
“I would urge more women to speak up. It is not okay to feel inferior or weak, because we are not the weaker sex by any stretch of imagination,” she added. (more…)
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif-starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has gained attention and generated discussion since the time its announcement was made on Eid. The film, which is a sequel of 2012 release Ek Tha Tiger, will be directed by Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar who will be taking over the mantle from Ek Tha Tiger director Kabir Khan. Zafar had earlier assisted Kabir on 2009 film New York that starred Katrina Kaif. Ali tweeted–“Tiger Zinda Hai @BeingSalmanKhan #katrina kaif. Nervousness and excitement”–well the director has many plans for the film and also huge expectations to meet. See all that director had to say about the Salman-Katrina film.
Ali Abbas Zafar knows how important it is for the audience to connect with the actors of the film. Probably this is the reason why he has not changed the cast of the film.
In an interview with Mid Day, the director said about Katrina and Salman, “They have done it once together, they will rock it again. Potentially, they are both phenomenal. No one can be a huge star in this country if they aren’t good at acting. For me, an actor must necessarily have a connect with the audience. If the ticket payers are giving respect to an actor, they are the right judges to say whether they are good or bad.” (more…)
Katrina Kaif was honored with the Smita Patil Memorial Award this past week, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than her!

Ek Tha Tiger’ co-stars Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan are coming together. We mean, professionally. The stars will be shooting a commercial together for Middle Eastern lifestyle brand, Splash, says a source.
“Salman will shoot for it before he flies out to Leh and Ladakh to complete the shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. The two have acted in about five films, but haven’t shot a commercial together,” he says of the ad for the brand owned by AUE based Indian entrepreneur, Mickey Jagtiani.
That’s some relief for voyeurs considering after aggressive speculation about Katrina teaming up with Salman for the Kabir Khan film, fans were disappointed when the news was dissed last month.
Katrina Kaif split from her actor lover of a few years, Ranbir Kapoor, in what most say was a sour separation earlier this year. Salman Khan, meanwhile, has been linked to Romanian Iulia Vantur.
